Reason # 9:  Be Surrounded by Sexy Technology

If the latest tech toys get you excited, this career is for you. Many companies will set you up with all kinds of gadgets and devices for you to play with, all at their expense.

Reason # 8:  Work with Other Gamers

If you love gaming, this career is perfect. Most of your co-workers will love gaming too.  And if you work really hard, you might even get to help create the games you love.

Reason # 7:  Strong Career Path

You don’t HAVE to get promoted if you don’t want to. But being a great developer is the perfect way to climb that corporate ladder and move into management.

Reason # 6:  Create and Build

A perk of being a software developer is that you get to be creative and build really cool websites and apps. It’s like the grown-up version of playing with Lego’s, only you get paid.

Reason # 5:  Work from Home

Some software companies let you work from home once they know and trust you. Make sure you ask about their policy AFTER you have the job offer.  And then... enjoy working in your pajamas.

Reason # 4:  Work from Anywhere in the World

When you’re an in-demand software developer, It IS possible, with enough work and patience, to find a company who literally doesn’t care where your office is, so long as you write good code and hit deadlines.

Reason # 3:  Flexible Schedule

Many I.T. companies don’t care when you come and go. They just want your work done on time. If flexibility is important, finding a company willing to accommodate your schedule shouldn’t be hard.

Reason # 2:  Always be in Demand

As a software developer, you will NEVER lack for work. In fact, your problem will be the opposite.  Recruiters and hiring managers will constantly beg you to apply for their jobs.

Reason # 1: T-Shirts and Shorts

If you’re not a suit and tie kinda guy, that’s okay. It’s not hard to find companies that don’t care what you wear to work, so long as you don’t come naked.
